Nadi Dosh Explained
Nadi dosh appears when both partners share the same nadi (Adi, Madhya or Antya), so the Nadi koota scores 0 of 8. Classical texts give several exceptions, such as the same rashi with different nakshatras, or the same nakshatra with different padas.
What are the three nadis?
Adi (Vata), Madhya (Pitta) and Antya (Kapha). Each nakshatra belongs to one, in a repeating pattern across the 27 stars.
When is nadi dosh set aside?
Same rashi but different nakshatra, same nakshatra but different pada, and when the rashi lords are the same or friends, among others.

Does nadi dosh affect children?
This is the biggest worry, because tradition links Nadi to health and progeny. The classics also list clear exceptions, and many couples who share a nadi have healthy children. Astrologers read Nadi alongside Bhakoot and Graha Maitri before drawing any conclusion.
Does nadi dosh affect health or love between partners?
Tradition reads same nadi as similar constitutions (Vata, Pitta or Kapha), which is why it is checked. It says nothing about love or respect; those come from Graha Maitri, Gana and the two people themselves.
Can nadi dosh be cancelled?
Yes. Same rashi with different nakshatras, same nakshatra with different padas, or rashi lords that are the same or friends are the classical cancellations.
