How the Chaldean reading works
A name is read on three levels. First the compound number, the raw total of all letter values, which carries the fuller vibration. Then the root, the compound reduced to a single digit from 1 to 9, which gives the working nature. And finally the position of the name: a birth name, a used name and a business name each act at a different layer of life.

Why there is no letter for 9
In the Chaldean tradition, 9 was held sacred, complete in itself, so no letter carries it. The number still appears constantly in readings: any compound total that reduces to 9 (18, 27, 36…) is read as a 9 at root level, ruled by Mars.
Compound numbers 10 to 52
Chaldean tradition gives each compound from 10 to 52 its own short reading, which is why two names with the same root can still read differently. A few examples: 14 carries restlessness and risk from speculation; 19 is read as one of the most fortunate compounds, promising success on one's own effort; 23 is read as aid from people in high positions; 26 warns of partnership losses; 33 carries unusual success but late in life.
