Vivah muhurat 2027: a month-by-month guide

Drik Panchang for New Delhi lists 96 vivah muhurat dates in 2027: January 9, February 13, March 7, April 9, May 18, June 16, July 6, November 11 and December 7. August, September and October have none, because they fall in Chaturmas. The season restarts on 15 January, after Kharmas.

The year in one count

2027 is a full wedding year, not a leftover fortnight. The Delhi list that KismatAstro checked against Drik Panchang on 28 September 2026 has 96 dates. They are not spread evenly. Winter and late spring are crowded. The monsoon months that fall inside Chaturmas are empty on purpose. If you only remember one empty stretch, remember August, September and October, and do not let a venue contract call those months peak shubh season.

The month counts, from that same list, are: January 9, February 13, March 7, April 9, May 18, June 16, July 6, November 11, December 7. Adding those gives 96. August, September and October add zero. January to April, where most 2027 planning starts

January restarts on Friday 15 January, the day after Makar Sankranti. The nine January dates run through the 31st: 15, 18, 19, 20, 24, 26, 27, 30 and 31. Families who refused a cramped 12 December 2026 often land here. February is the busiest month of the winter half, with 13 dates, and it is the last full month before the March solar pause. If you want a winter wedding and a choice of Saturdays, February is where you look first, then January.

March has seven dates, and all of them fall on or before 14 March. The Sun's move toward Meena is why the list then goes quiet. The tradition calls that pause Meena Kharmas. April does not begin with a wedding date. The first April row is 18 April, and there are nine dates between the 18th and the 28th. A function booked for 2 April is not on this list, however convenient the long weekend looks.

May and June carry the most dates

May has 18 dates, the most of the year, and June has 16. Halls know this. If your guest list is large, ask about May in autumn 2026, not in March 2027. The dates are spread through both months rather than piled on one week, which helps, but the popular nakshatras still collide with every other family using the same panchang. A muhurat is not a private reservation.

July has six dates, and the last of them is 12 July. After that the list stops until 10 November. That gap is Chaturmas, the same four-month pause that pushed 2026's season into late November, only this time it sits in the monsoon months people expect. Do not fill August with a 'small engagement' and call it a vivah muhurat. An engagement can follow your family's own rules. The wedding date, if you want it on this list, waits for November.

November and December 2027

The season reopens on 10 November 2027, with 11 dates through the 29th. December 2027 has seven dates, ending on 14 December. That shape is familiar if you have just lived through 2026: a late opening, a short December, then a solar pause. The December 2027 rows are not the December 2026 rows. Do not recycle last year's invitation wording, and do not assume the 12th is the last day again. In 2027 the last listed day is the 14th.

How to use a year list without losing the couple

  • Pick the season your families can travel: winter (January–February), spring (April–June), or the short Kartik window (November–mid December).
  • Drop the empty months on purpose: no August, September or October dates are hiding further down the page.
  • Shortlist three dates that the venue can hold, then match the charts. Kundli matching is the birth-time version. Name matching is the fallback, not a secret upgrade.
  • Hand the shortlist to the purohit for Tara bala and the lagna. The table already removed Chaturmas, Kharmas and the tithis this panchang avoids.

Guna milan still matters if your family uses it. A May date with 14 gunas is a calendar success and a matching conversation. Read how many gunas should match before someone treats 18 as a law and 17 as a disaster. The bands are traditional references. They are not a score you must clear to deserve a wedding.

Dubai timings in the checked extract cover January and February 2027 only. Later months are not guessed on this site. The UAE clock and a different sunrise both move the window, sometimes onto another date. For a Gulf wedding after February, take the Delhi date as a candidate and have it recomputed. Do not print the India hours on a Dubai card.

A planning calendar, not a lucky calendar

Work backwards from the guests, not from the nakshatra. If half the family lives abroad, February and May are easier than a November date that appears with six weeks' notice. If the couple wants a small register marriage and a later celebration, the register date can be any weekday the court is open, and the celebration can sit on a listed muhurat. Mixing those two clocks on one invitation is how people end up defending a Thursday in August as 'basically Kartik'. August is empty on this list. Say the celebration is a reception if that is what it is.

Keep a one-page shortlist: three dates, the city, whether the window is a night window, and whether birth times are in hand. When a date drops, replace it from the same season before you jump a whole season. May has eighteen dates for a reason, and they are not eighteen equally convenient Saturdays. Count the weekday yourself from the date in the table. The panchang did not sort them by how easy they are for a Monday-morning office. Your shortlist can. What the 96 dates are not

They are not personal muhurats. A personal muhurat looks at both birth charts and the venue's coordinates. They are not a promise about fertility, money or in-laws. They are not valid for 2026, and the 2026 leftovers are a different article. They were not calculated by a paid horoscope API. The clock times come from Drik Panchang. The only engine times in this guide are the solar ingress notes, clearly labelled as KismatAstro's Lahiri calculation, and they are used where they agree with the Sankranti date already on the muhurat page. When a month looks crowded, it is crowded for everyone using this panchang, not only for you. Book the hall, then the clothes. A nakshatra cannot be postponed because a tailor is late, but a tailor can be booked around a nakshatra you chose in time.

When you telephone a hall, read the weekday from a calendar in front of you. The list does not mark Saturdays in bold, and a Friday such as 15 January is a real muhurat even if the family prefers a weekend. Count how many of your three shortlisted dates fall on a working day before you argue about nakshatra. A weekday the office can spare is more useful than a Saturday that is not on this list. Keep the empty months visible on the same page, so a well-meaning uncle cannot add August back in from memory. The month headings are part of the answer.

How many marriage dates are there in 2027?

96 on the Drik Panchang list for New Delhi. The busiest month is May, with 18 dates, then June with 16 and February with 13. August, September and October have no dates on this list.

When do weddings restart in January 2027?

The first Delhi vivah muhurat is Friday 15 January 2027. Makar Sankranti, when Kharmas ends, falls on 14 January on this site's Drik-based calendar. Our Lahiri engine also puts the Sun's entry into Makar on the evening of 14 January.

Why is there a gap in March and another in the monsoon?

March's dates are all before 15 March. After that, Meena Kharmas pauses weddings until mid-April, and the list resumes on 18 April. A longer pause, Chaturmas, runs through August, September and October. The next date after 12 July is 10 November 2027.

Are 2027 Dubai timings on this site?

Dubai timings from the same Drik check are published for January and February 2027 on the 2027 muhurat page. Later months were not in that checked extract, so they are not invented here. Ask a purohit to recompute those months for a UAE venue.
